Art Of Tattoo

           

           The field and domain that I will be researching is a tattoo artist and I will be writing an overview of this creative activity. The reason I picked this topic was because I was very interested in the work that these artists create.

            I will start off with some questions; the first one will be, when was creative tattooing first invented? What I found to this question was that, “tattoos have said to originate from Polynesia and Tahiti over 5,000 years ago as it is cultural practice which is when a person spiritual, power or life force is displayed through their tattoo”. Another question is, who are some of its major contributors? Well in this case it would start off with the Polynesia people and carry up to present day, which it has became more popular through each generation. More and more young adults are starting to get tattoos to show off things that they have experienced throughout their life. Young adults also choose to get tattoos because they think that it looks cool on their bodies. The legal age to get a tattoo is 18, but sometimes with a parents consent, under aged teens can get a tattoo. I have heard of people from as young as the age of 14 up to the age of 50 getting a tattoo.

Another question that I wanted to know was, what is the most important instrument in tattooing? Tattoo artists often refer to their equipment as a “machine” or “iron.  The tattoo machine, which is a hand-held device, is commonly used to create a tattoo. Today, the majority of tattoo machines use electromagnetic coils to move a bar up and down. A needle grouping that pushes ink into the skin is connected to this bar.” The word "gun" is often used, but most tattoo artists do not like to use this term. In addition to "coiled" tattoo machine there are also Rotary Tattoo Machines, which are powered by regulated motors rather than electromagnetic coils. (wiki)
I also wanted to know, who is a famous tattoo artist? When researching this it was pretty hard trying to find just one artist so I will give a list of some of the artist that I have found and give a brief over view of them. The first artist, a female“Kat Von D”, started in the 2000’s and she did her art in Miami. The next artist was “Ami James” and he was from the 1990’s,  he started his art in an apprenticeship with a tattooist named Lou. He also started in Miami, where almost all good/famous artists started
