Drake: Modern Day Singer/Hip-Hop

Aubrey Drake Graham was born on August 24th in the year of 1986. He was raised by his mother in Toronto, Canada and spent his summers in Memphis with his father. Drake is a modern day song writer, singer, and hip-hop artist, not to mention; former actor. As a matter of fact, his career began on the television show "Degrassi: The Next Generation", which was filmed in Canada ("Aceshowbiz," Drake).

Drake didn't begin releasing music until 2006 when he released the mixtape titled "Room for Improvement" and the year later he released a mixtape titled "Comeback Season" ("Aceshowbiz," Drake). These mixtapes put Drake's name out there and this is when he began to blow up as an artist and people started to actually pay attention to him. In February of 2009 Drake began to link up with Lil Wayne, which is the founder of the powerhouse record label, Young Money. The mixtape that really put his name on the map was "So Far Gone," which was a mixtape that he made alongside his mentor and future boss, Lil Wayne.

The photo that I have above is the "Nothing was the Same" album cover. The album was created in 2013 and was a hit.

The photo that is presented above is the song cover of a song titled "Draft Day" that was created within the past month. Drake supports everybody from his home-state and people that love his music, especially athletes. Two athletes that are projected to be #1 draft picks are Johnny Manziel and KU's freshman phenom, Andrew Wiggins, which is from Canada. The reason that I mentioned these two outstanding athletes is because he mentions both of them in the song "Draft Day," and this song is rising on the charts day-by-day.
