Anne Frank

Anne Frank is a diarist that can be said as one of the most famous diarists because of what she talked about her time during the Holocaust. Her diary has been the basis for many films and plays today (Wikipedia, "Anne Frank"). She would have never been known as a diarist, but with her father's help, without her knowing, she became a famous diarist.
Anne Frank lived from June 1929 until March 1945. She was born Jewish in Germany but lived most of her life in Amsterdam. During her lifetime she spent most of it in hiding to not be sent to the concentration camps during the Holocaust. During this time was when she wrote in a diary about her daily life living in hiding (Wikipedia, "Anne Frank").  She wrote in her diary for two years of hiding telling what she did during those long days (Wikipedia, "Anne Frank").

Above is a picture of Anne Frank's diary and all that she wrote in it. She also included pictures in it of previous years before she went into hiding (annefrank.com). Her diary was not a certain method, but rather a day by day summary of what she did while she was in hiding and what her thoughts and emotions were during her hiding (Wikipedia, "Anne Frank"). Her work was not famous until after she had passed away because she wrote in it during the time she was alive. He diary was first published in 1950 in Germany and France and then spread further after that (Wikipedia, "Anne Frank").
This is one of her examples,"Our many Jewish friends and acquaintances are being taken away in droves. The Gestapo is treating them very roughly and transporting them in cattle cars to Westerbork, the big camp in Drenthe to which they're sending all the Jews....If it's that bad in Holland, what must it be like in those faraway and uncivilized places where the Germans are sending them? We assume that most of them are being murdered. The English radio says they're being gassed. (annefrank.com). As you can see her posts in her diaries are about what she experiences and what she hears from the radio and says to the people living with her during her hiding.

Anne Frank was one of the most influential diarists in my thoughts because people nowadays get a real life understanding of what happened during the Holocaust. She tells people about events that happened and how the Germans behaved toward everyone that wasn't for Hitler. Many of her posts in her diary tell the truth about the Holocaust and they really inform people on what it was like to live in that time period if you were Jewish. The final result was her diary getting published and having plays and movies written after it that gave her life story. It truly shows that a diary was important to her and can eventually influence a lot of people.
