Being confident is acceptable,
Being cocky is inequitable.
Being the best that you can be is the goal in life,
Don't take your talents for granted because they can be cut off quickly, without a knife.
Growing up as the 'next big thing' had me feeling validated,
But breaking your leg doing what you're 'big' in will have you feeling violated.
Feeling like you're untouchable is never the way to be,
You can be the best basketball player in your class until you break your leg and blow out your knee.
Consider this a lesson people, don't overlook what I'm writing,
Just read this poem so that you can understand what I'm inciting.
